We try and plan our next second, minute, hour, day, year and our future with the help of trivial tools like alarms, planners, schedulers, resolutions and plans without realizing the real deal is living for the moment and enjoying the glorious uncertainties of life. Either all of that or we just suck at algebra.

I think what Stoppard is saying is that life unfolds according to certain mathematical rules, and if you are intelligent enough to comprehend these rules (i.e. you are God), you can even predict the future. What Rohan is saying is we should not be compelled to follow life by any rules and just go with the flow. Unless there is something deeper, I think this is it. In short, what Jinguchakka said.
